Abstract:
SIS practices from the beginning as one of the outside media tools in Egypt, and has an important role in spreading Egypt's image abroad and helps decision-makers through an integrated vision for the overall developments in the international world.
As a result, the role of the SIS and Its contributions, which was not confined to the borders of the core of Egypt, but extends to the outside, beside it has attracted the attention of prestigious international organizations such as the United Nations and its specialized agencies, which was keen to give the SIS the Messenger of the Peace Prize according the important role they play in world peace and development.
There is no doubt that this award is a reflection of the role played by the Commission and still plays in the field of world peace and its development; being conscious and convinced that peace is the only way to achieve prosperity, stability and progress of the whole world. Which stems from Egypt's foreign policy, which considering the achievement of peace in the world as a general and in the Middle East specifically as a goal to be pursued through the efforts of the various parties and entities.
And it is supposed that, the website of the SIS represents a distinguished model in communication and publishing with the external public via most prevalent private languages , such as English, French, Spanish, and utilizing the potentialities of Internet such as online multimedia and others in communication with the target audience, specially that the website of the SIS has number of visitors exceeds twenty million a month which achieved it a broader worldwide proliferation.
Hence the problem of the study, which seeks to describe the role played by SIS through its website in spreading the culture of peace internally and externally, and to identify all of the activities carried out by different languages used on the site to achieve this goal. What is the content of this role, which contribute to spreading the culture of peace among internal and external audiences, and how introduced by the SIS?
The SIS web site was chosen because of the importance of the Internet on one hand, and being the choice of UNESCO on the year of 2000 and achieving the fifth place in the world among 34 million site due to the efforts made by the SIS on its site, which contributed to the dissemination of knowledge and culture of peace and concepts in various parts of the world.
It has been shown from the analysis of the Commission web site; its ability to embrace the vision of the political leadership in Egypt in diffusion the culture of peace in accordance with the various communication activities, and employs potentialities. SIS practiced a model for External Information, whether on regional or international level, showing strong concern of the government and the Egyptian people on the importance of diffusion the culture of peace among the nations of the world. It explained the importance of the role played by Egypt in the achievement of justice and peace through its various institutions.
And we can confirm that, this study provided a model for the work of the media, which is consistent with the philosophy and the policy of the Authority and used several important tools to suit the nature of the website and the use of modern technology in dealing with important issues, associated with the deployment of a culture of peace.
