Abstract:
The New Information and Communication Technology (NICT) has known great developments that allowed the internet, being a global network, to be emerged and available to all. It gives to individuals and groups the possibility of communicating and interacting as users, regardless of their locations, gender, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. It also abolishes political barriers and geographical boundaries that were on the table as well as social and cultural inequalities and differences. Social networks had appeared with the second generation of the web (2.0) such as Facebook , Twitter, LinkedIn, Flicker, Instagram and others, which provided many advantages to its users such as the interactive, synchronous, nonsynchronous and universal message also the access content in high-speed. The rapid developments in communication technology including new modes of communication produced systematic problems in how to study, due to the increasing of its users; it is viewed from technological perspective on account of several factors that contribute to the formation of the phenomenon of communication and media as being resulted. So we will try through this research paper to begin discussion of some critical reading for theorizing of the phenomenon of new communication media as well as the methodology of its study. We will present the most prominent theories and traditional methods that are used, also how to adapt it to become an appropriate scientific tool in order to deal with this dominated phenomenon in various aspect of life. In addition we will discuss the development of theories and approaches that has been renewed to be more specialized way dealing with new media which is considered as a different phenomenon in some aspects of the ancient media, newspaper, TV and radio.
