Abstract:
The study aimed to analyze the Egyptian tweeters' discourse towards education issues in light of the Coronavirus pandemic on the social networking site (Twitter). Methodology of the study: The study relied on the inductive approach in addition to using tools (discourse analysis). The study sample: A sample of (1997) tweets by (940) tweeters, which were published on Twitter during the period from 1/10 to 10/31/2020. Study tools: The study relied on the discourse analysis of newspaper. The most prominent results of the study: - The thesis (Taking preventive measures to confront the "Coronavirus" in schools and universities) came first, followed by a slight difference (the opening of new schools and universities), then (insulting teachers and lack of their salaries), followed by (developing the educational system and curricula), then (education about after the launch of new educational platforms), and finally came (helping students who are unable to). - Majority of the majority of adjectives and roles of the active forces mentioned in the tweets - the research sample - were positive with a percentage (66.4%), followed by negative characteristics and roles in the second and last place with an overall rate of (33.6%). - (Statements and conferences) came at the top of the reactions shown by the tweets - the research sample - regarding education issues in light of the Coronavirus pandemic, followed by (popular rejection), then in third place (supporter and supporter), and finally (no reactions). - Majority of the Direction Neutral dominated the tweets of Egyptians that dealt with issues and problems of education in light of the Coronavirus pandemic and came in first place, followed by the negative trend rejecting the government's handling of education problems in light of the Coronavirus pandemic, while the positive trend in support of educational policies and decisions taken by the Ministry of Education came in light of Coronavirus pandemic is in last place.
