The Dependence of the Egyptian Public on Arab News Satellite Channels to Obtain Information about the Climate Change Conference and its Relationship to its Level of Knowledge of Climate Change: A Feld Study , Vol.11 , Forty Fifth Issue

Abstract:
This study aimed to identify the extent to which the Egyptian public depends on Arab news satellite channels to obtain information about the COP27 Climate Change Conference, in addition to knowing the motives of the Egyptian public's dependence on these channels and the various effects resulting from relying on Arab news satellite channels as a source of information, as well as the level of knowledge of the Egyptian public about climate change. This is as a framework of a field study on a sample of the Egyptian public.
In this study, the researcher depended on the survey methodology on an intentional sample of the Egyptian public who followed the Climate Summit Conference on Arab news satellite channels. The study was conducted on 400 individuals from the Egyptian public who follow Arab news channels.
The study found that 44% of the Egyptian public, the study sample, moderately depend on Arab news satellite channels as a source of information about the Climate Summit Conference, while the percentage of those who greatly depend on it to a great degree reached 39.5%, while the percentage of those who slightly depend on it reached 16.5%.
The CBC Extra News channel came at the forefront of the Arab news satellite channels, which the study sample was keen to depend on as a source of information about the conference with a percentage of 59.25%, followed by Al Jazeera News Channel with a percentage of 53.75%, and the percentage of those who have medium levels of knowledge of climate change reached 48.5% of the total of the study sample, while 42% of the sample have high levels of knowledge.
