Abstract:
The researcher seeks to study media framing of the corona virus pandemic on the electronic news websites, its trends, the editorial arts used, as well as the effective force of the crisis and the paths of evidence used; the research relied on the use of a systematic comparison; with the aim of identifying the similarities and differences in the press coverage of the news sites: (Al-Ahram, Al-Wafd, and Al-Masry Al-Youm) for media framing as covered by the news sites of the Corona virus pandemic, the research relied on the two-part survey method: descriptive and analytical methods regarding the content presented in the news sites about the Corona virus pandemic. The study concluded that the study sites dealt with the topics of the Corona virus pandemic with an obvious interest, as the qualitative method showed how to deal with various topics, and the ways in which they are presented and addressed, a set of facts related to the topic through selection and highlighting for certain aspects, for example: Al-Ahram site targeted calming in general; even handling with death and injury statistics, this presented in a special frame dealing with preventive measures, and trying to discover the causes of the disease. As for Al-Masry Al-Youm and Al-Wafd, they discussed issues through the impact of the editorial policy on these issues, through the suffering of citizens in their daily lives, and focused on the economic impact on the countries of the world, and highlighted the adaptive patterns in the current situation, and how to avoid exposure to infection, confirmed that the study sites did not focus on using a single frame in dealing with the crisis, but used a number of different frames and that frames alternate in appearing through the study period, although they differed in the frequency of emergence and its persistence throughout the processing period according to the different stages of development of the crisis itself.
