Abstract:
The study aimed to find out the extent of Egyptian youth dependence and using of social media networks and their role in educating them about the dangers of the emerging corona virus, and to what extent this had an impact on the awareness, knowledge and attitudes of Egyptian youth towards the emerging corona virus, and to identify the youth's attitudes towards the active parties, based on an available deliberate sample of about 400 persons, only from Egyptian youth aged between 18 to 35 years old, and the form was distributed electronically in the period from 1/12/2020 until 1/2/2021.
The results of the study revealed that the study sample was highly affected by the information provided on the pandemic through social media, and the rate of youth’s use of social networks increased and considered them the main source of information about the pandemic. The results also revealed the increasing follow-up of young people to official news about the pandemic through their pages on social media. The official videos are followed by the doctors’ pages and tweets about the pandemic, then the pages of the World Health Organization, and the trends of the study sample were positive towards the active parties who are in the face of Corona, where the civil society institutions came in the first place, then the government actions.
